I dunno... my Azu books have been sitting around and I keep reading them over and over. I'm on a kick.
It's a series where it's hard to pick a favorite character. I'm like "Oh, definitely Tomo. No wait, Kagura. NO OSAKA NO WAIT YUKARI HNARRRGH. They're all equally good for different reasons.

The unit right across the street from us is up for rent now. It's nicer than this place, but it's $600 more per month. I'm sure my rent will be going up by around $200 come renewal time, so that makes the increase just a little less serious, and there are some other additions -- primarily central air conditioning and an up-to-date electrical system -- that we could really use now.

I can't say I dislike the place I'm currently living in, so I guess it comes down to whether it'd be possible and worth it in the long run to add all the upgrades here instead of moving. Something to talk to the owner about. He's a decent guy, so I'd hate to break my lease on principle, but on the other hand, houses in this neighborhood typically don't stay up for rent for long, and we're approaching the time of year when people will be looking for places near the city. It probably wouldn't be a huge nightmare for him, but we'll see when I bring it up.

I will not be going to A-kon or Comic Con this year!

I tend to always go to those cons so I probably should make it clear things will be different this time. I think Staple! ended my whole '09 con season, to be honest. I would be going to SPX, but there will be a wedding in the family at that time. Aside from that, I am in hermit mode while I work on this rather crucial Girly chapter now. See y'all in 2010.

Scribbles!

Again, this slump won't last too long. I think.
It's not really the quality it affects so much as the speed to produce the same quality. It's taking me like two hours a panel and that's ridiculous.

I remember when I started this website and Bob DeJesus made suggestions on plans for when the site's membership reaches the 1000s, and I was like looool like that will ever happen.

NEW FASTBALL ALBUM TODAY, GUYS.

I was organizing some folders on my computer when I came upon one containing these files, and I was like "oh yeah, THAT project!"

Pop Star Becky is a funny sex cartoon I began work on but did not finish work on. It'd be a shame to just let all the unfinished stuff sit on my hard drive, so I'll make use of my Flickr and post a little gallery!

This was going to be a show about a cute pop star who attempts to become an actress, but basically it all goes wrong and everyone hates her. She spends to whole show trying to get her career back while spending her remaining money on pot and male whores. It's a pretty intentionally absurd scenario.

There are various reasons I dropped the project, but it mostly amounted to be not having the time to start yet another series. I can't even update Doctor Voluptua reliably. Something's gotta give before I can really consider taking on something as ambitious as animation.

There's also the little thing about me not really knowing how to do it.

Nevertheless, this was my attempt. I'll add to this gallery as the days go by. Some scenes have sex and stuff, and I'm pretty sure Flicr allows that as long as it's not flat-out X-Rated, but I'll need to mark them with a warning, so only signed-in people will be able to see them. So register a Flickr account if you want to see more okay?

Quick update:

Staple! was last Saturday, and once again it was a pretty good con.
I felt an illness coming on while I was there, but I figured it was a minor cold, which Malice got over about a week ago.
Instead, I was stuck in bed with influenza (or something similar to it) for three days.
So I got a lotta catching up to do

Oh my god, everything you know is wrong. I seriously didn't see what happened coming, so I guess I shouldn't talk about it.

Gunnerkrigg Court vol 1
Harcover, full color, HUGE. It's the nicest collection of any webcomics so far. Any webcomics.

Popeye vol 3
Bluto arrives, spends abut a month in newspaper time fighting Popeye, then leaves, and we never hear from him again. It's pretty great. One of the coimcs is just six panels of the two fighting until they're both a big blur of fists. Most of the coimics are (unlike the cartoon) full of words, and it can get surprisingly silly and imaginative. Segar died too soon.

RASL vol.1 Better than Bone, but I never see anyone talking about it. Could be because the hero is.. uh.. kinda ugly, and not cute, like Bone was, which wouldn't surprise me. Comic readers can be pretty shallow. Main problem with the comic is Smith is slow as always. Not a great deal of plot progression in a year of work, but hey, I'll be patient!
Recommend you wait for the trades instead of reading the pamphlets. Which I';m sure will be moot soon as comic shops won't be able to carry the pamphlets of this or any other indie comic any more within a few months, thanks, Diamond.

PEOPLE WITH PROJECT WONDERFUL ADS

I need to add sites of all shapes an sizes to an ad campaign for Slipshine. If you're okay with having ads for an adult site show up on your page, please reply to this post or email me, and let me know the name of your site.

-the ads themselves are worksafe and most of the ads contain "NWS" warnings. You can see all the ads currently being used right here
-Slipshine has a "warning" entry page that shows up the first time someone visits the site.
-currently the ads run all day but I plan to set them to only run at night once I have enough sites in the campaign.

We're trying to get Slipshine's 2000th subscriber before the end of March, so any help you guys can provide can be helpful (we're at 1890 now!)

When people are asked "What is your favorite Josh Lesnick character?" the answer is always "Happy Clown"! So

The next Doctor V story will be a reworking of a 10-year old story of mine about a waitress who had a bit of a sex hex placed on her, so it'll be a little easier for me to do. Still, I'd rather not start it until I'm sure I can update it at least semi-regularly.
