Seriously, for some reason, I just can't plan my trips for shit this year. If anyone has just a floor I can sleep on for either con, please email me and bail me out. I am officially in deperate mode.
I do that every time, too. Try looking into hostels. Most big cities have them (and I know for a fact that San Diego has half a dozen right downtown within walking distance from the convention center). They're cheap, and they usually have rooms most of the time. First time I went to Comic Con, I didn't know I was going until 5 days before it happened. I managed to get a room for four days for around $100. It'll be tricky for you, what with you likely having merchandise with you, but most hostels offer locked storage space for a small fee. And you have the added bonus that, since you'll be there during Comic Con, so will everyone else there, and you can sit in the common room and be geeky with all the other poor people who like comics!
If you are successful in finding space, and discover there's room for one more, I'd be more than happy to help share the cost and snooze in a cupboard....
I noted this on the Keenspot member's board, but since Josh can't read that: I've got a lead on a good room for $150 a night in San Diego. Let me know if you boys are interested, 'cause I need an affordable place to crash too.
Then we shall be an alliance of three for JUSTICE.
Actually, the original hotel I'd heard about is apparently only holding rooms for EXHIBITORS, which fucks me. I suppose we shall indeed try the Super 8!
I'm printing this comic out & putting it on my bulletin board... Because it's tru from the employee's perspective too. I see this so much.
Now imagine this same comic except en masse about a week before memorial day weekend at a luxury hotel. Maybe it would be more appropriate for me to print out several hundred of this same comic & post them to the big bulletin board, to reflect the reality.
