1) What was your FIRST video game console?
The 2600 from A-ta-ri!
I got it for my birthday in 1982, the year both me and the 2600 turned 5.
To demonstrate what a freakin' nerd I am... I have a few memories of me begging for a videogame system from my parents before the day came. I don't really remember much of anything from age 4 and before, so those could very well be my earliest memories.

2) Name a few games you played on said console.
Donkey Kong, Asteroids, Q-Bert, Pac-man (even at that age, I knew something was wrong with it), Space Invaders, Mario Bros, Combat, Carnival, Pole Position, Frogger. I was realy into arcade ports, it seems! But my favrite game was probably River Raid, which I never owned myself; I'd play it whenever I visited my grandparents.

3) Excluding handhelds, how many VG consoles do you own presently?
Five. A Wii, a Dreamcast (which somehow hasn't been broken yet), a "slim" model PS2 which replaced a full-sized one stick in DRE mode, a TurboDuo that can no longer play Redbook, and a Genesis that I heep in a box with my TurboDuo. My roommate Malice and I are also borrowing a 360 from a friend, but we'll buy it sooner or later.
In the past I owned an NES, a Saturn, and a Gamecube
Why are we excluding handhelds? What's wrong with handhelds?

4) Were you a Street Fighter nut? Any character in particular?
I never got into fighting games. I actually hated SF2 the first time I played it, and was surprised it became so popular. I did make occasional efforts to try, and got SFA2 for my Saturn, but could never be bothered to learn to play it well. I often played as Chun Li, because I was one of those dorks who always chose female characters. I beat the game by spamming her spinning kick (which was pretty cheezy in the Alpha games)

5) Do you think Capcom is a FUCKING awesome company with kickass character designs?
I'd say they used to be. In the area of character design, SF3 was their best work, along with the Darkstalkers series. The first Resident Evil was interesting too, I suppose. Now they're just recycling shit like everyone else.

6) Here's the scenario.. You had some friends over and you all ate FRIED CHICKEN! After the meal you all decide to play some video games. As your friend reaches for a controller you notice his/her hands are very "greasy." Are you the type that would insist they wash their hands before pawing the controller, or is it no big deal?
What the hell. I'm not answering that.


7) What's your favorite RPG/Action RPG?
Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door. Great Gonzales, fuck yaaaaar. I almost swore off RPGs after that, thinking it wouldn't be topped, but eventually I played through the Earthbound series, which have among the best stories in gamedom.

8) Do you prefer 2D games or 3D games?
I'd have to say 2D. Never had any interest in playing the Metroid Prime games, and Wario Land was the best game this year.

9) Are you an SNK fan?
Yeah, I loved Ikari Warriors and the Metal Slug games even though I fucking suck at them. Their 700,000 fighting games I could care less about.

9) Are you good at DDR?
I used to be. Now I'm too out-of-shape. At any rate, I prefer exercising to music that isn't fucking terrible these days. Soooo why are there two #9s?

11) Have you skipped out on important events in life because of video games?
Not really. Just work.

12) Do you listen to video game music?
I have a few Overclocked Remixes in my MP3 list, if that counts.

14) Have you ever been in an arcade playing a fighting game, KICKING ASS, and then some 6 year old Asian kid comes in and OWNS YOU??
Man, Asians sure are good at videogames.

15) Name three games you would love to see remakes of if it was done properly
I always thought it'd be interesting if Nintendo revisited the original Mario Bros. game, Donkey Kong '94 style. You know, it's interesting how the original purpose of Luigi's creation was to make a Mario game with two-player simaltaneous play, and yet since then, they never got to do it again, the "party/sports" games and the "VS" mode in SMBDX notwithstanding.
Uhh I don't know. What hasn't had a remake these days? How about Yar's Revenge?
And hell, may as well follow up Metroid Zero Mission with a Metroid 2 update. I'd like to play a version of that game where you can actually tell where the fuck you are and what to do.

16) Mario or Sonic?
Sonic, because man his 'tude is off the charts. Hes the fastest thing alive, and loves to eat chili dogs. Gotta speed, Jeed!
Too bad he only had like three good games.

17) When a movie shows up in the theaters, let's use Spider-man as an example, are you likely to buy the GAME version?
No. I don't watch shitty movies or buy their shitty games.

18) What is your LEAST favorite genre of video games? (ex. fighting, sports, shooters, etc.)
Uhhh probably sports, since that's the genre that includes the least inspired games on the whole. Jrpgs are a close second, though.

19) Is there a game out there that you feel was unique and didn't get enough love?
Okami, Elebits, Wario Land: Shake It, Zack and Wiki, Psychonauts, Dynamite Headdy, blah blah

20) Have you ever verbally abused a game because you couldn't beat one of the levels and/or bosses?
Could anyone honestly say "no" to this. I don't think even Buddha himself could make it through a Castlevania game without yelling every derogatory name there is for the penis and vagina at least once and then demanding that they be shoved down the throats of every incarnation of that FUCKING Grim Reaper.

21) Do you own any VG apparel?
Can't think of anything I own these days, but when I was a teenager... hoo boy.

22) What are your thoughts on the live-action Super Mario Bros movie?
Making the Mario Bros. story into some sort of dystopian cyberpunk action movie has got to be one of the most puzzling and terrible ideas that Hollywood ever had.

23) On that note, what did you think about the live-action Street Fighter movie?
It was the best live-action Street Fighter dramatization ever until The Later Years came along. Wait... I'm forgetting City Hunter starring Jackie Chan.

24) Who's hottest out of the KOF chicks?
Uhhhh Angel, and fuck you for asking that.

25) Do you say "old-school" a lot when you're having a VG conversation with others?
I don't know... why? That's a strange thing to ask.

26) Have you ever lent someone a game and they returned it to you damaged?
No, but I've broken someone's Dreamcast.

27) Do you own any imported games?
Nope.
I think the last set of imported games I had were DDR games bought in Japan, which I've since given to a friend.

Yeah, you know how there are those T-shirts with pixel graphics of 1up mushrooms and shit? Those are really stupid. Getting a tattoo of that sort of thing would be reprehensible. The "retro" craze is getting really tired guys. Can we get over remembering things we used to enjoy, and go back to having some actual imagination and creativity? Anyway, Princess Daisy, I guess.
